Changes in regional wet heatwave in Eurasia during summer (1979–2017)

چکیده

Abstract Wet heatwaves can have more impact on human health than hot dry heatwaves. However, changes in these received little scientific attention. Using the ECMWF Reanalysis v5 reanalysis dataset, wet-bulb temperatures ( T w ) were used to investigate spatial-temporal variation of wet Eurasia for 1979–2017. defined as three day or longer periods when was above 90th percentile summer distribution and characterized by amplitude, duration frequency. Maximum values close 31 °C, occur Indus–Ganges plain, lower Yangtze valley, coasts Persian Gulf Red Sea. Significant positive trends frequency amplitude occurred over most though with regional variations. Changes heatwave (HWA) are largely driven mean . For a whole, increases temperature contribute six times relative humidity (RH) HWA. strong dependence climatological RH an increase 1% causing 0.2 °C arid regions, only increasing 0.1 humid regions. During Europe, parts Tibet, India, East Asia Arabian Peninsula both , dominant driver. part Russia, weak is mainly caused temperature. In Mediterranean Central Asia, has fallen reducing from general warming.

Effect of Wet Feeding on Feed Conversion Efficiency in Laying Hens during Summer Season

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of wet feeding on feed conversion efficiency in laying hens during summer season. The study was carried out on 192 pullets of eight weeks age (distributed to four groups). The feed offered to chicks consisted of starter diet up to 8 weeks of age and grower diet up to 20 weeks of age. From 20 weeks onwards, birds were provided with layer diet u...

Estimating the burden of heat illness in England during the 2013 summer heatwave using syndromic surveillance

BACKGROUND The burden of heat illness on health systems is not well described in the UK. Although the UK generally experiences mild summers, the frequency and intensity of hot weather is likely to increase due to climate change, particularly in Southern England. We investigated the impact of the moderate heatwave in 2013 on primary care and emergency department (ED) visits using syndromic surve...

SAX-quantile based multiresolution approach for finding heatwave events in summer temperature time series

Time series pattern discovery is of great importance in a large variety of environmental and engineering applications, from supporting predictive models to helping to understand hidden underlying processes. This work develops a multiresolution time series method for extracting patterns in weather records, particular temperature data. The topic is important, as, given a warming climate, morbidit...

Greenhouse Gas–Induced Changes in Summer Precipitation over Colorado in NARCCAP Regional Climate Models*

Precipitation changes between 32-yr periods in the late twentieth and mid-twenty-first centuries are investigated using regional climatemodel simulations provided by theNorthAmericanRegional Climate Change Assessment Program (NARCCAP). The simulations generally indicate drier summers in the future over most of Colorado and the border regions of the adjoining states. The decrease in precipitatio...
